Powell's Paso Robles
Our Story
Powell's Sweet Shoppe in Paso Robles is owned and operated by central coast natives, the Goodwin Family (Josh, his wife Sonora, brother Spencer and Josh and Spencer's Dad, Steve). The Goodwin's have worked, lived, and played in the area their entire lives.
Josh first discovered Powell's Sweet Shoppe while working at a central coast software company. Traveling on site to install the software at a "candy store", he didn't realize the chain reaction that was about to start.
Walking into the Windsor store (the only one at the time), he was shocked by the wonderful impact that is Powell's Sweet Shoppe. Although on site for two days, he still wanted to see more. When the second store was opening in Healdsburg, Josh was again on site to help roll out the software. Inspired by the excitement of a new store opening, Josh knew for sure that he wanted to be a part of Powell's Sweet Shoppe. When he returned to the central coast with stories of this fantastic sweet shoppe, his words could not do it justice. Eventually, his vivacity spread and the rest of the family was on board.
With the idea that they wanted to re-create the magic of the Windsor store as closely as possible, Steve dedicated himself to finding a location. When he spotted the "old bath house" building on the park in Paso Robles, they knew they had found Powell's Sweet Shoppe's new home. Two family additions later (Josh and Sonora's twin boys!), Powell's Sweet Shoppe Paso Robles opened on November 20, 2007.
Since then, the local community has embraced Powell's Sweet Shoppe and made it their own. Powell's Sweet Shoppe, Paso Robles, appreciates being a part of local events and is proud to support our local schools, athletics, and organizations. "We truly strive to make sure everyone experiences the same joy, adventure, memories, and excitement visiting the store that we experience running it".
Stop by and say "Hi"!
Sincerely,
Josh, Sonora, Spencer, Steve, Ralph, and Blake Goodwin
